Happy April Fool

Haven't been blogging for the past couple of days, tests were killing me literally. Now that its all over, I bring to all you happy fans and followers out there...an update. Lol. Let's make it short shall we? Wednesday - boring day. Skipped French lecture to go mug for stats test in Central library with Mushroom and the others. One thing I like about Central library is the 'scenery'. Close to 1 out of every 10 persons in the library is a skimpily clad chiobu. Not bad eh? I should hang out in Arts more often, the number of cute girls in Science is atrociously low. I often wonder how those girls can tolerate the freezer-like temperatures in the Central library when the amount of cloth on their bodies is almost negligible. Maybe chiobus have a 100% resistance to cold.

Wee Heng messaged me my score for the previous French written test during my mugging stint in the library. Apparently, I got 18/20 for comprehension and 11/15 for the grammar section. Wow. Sometimes I even amaze myself. Now I feel as though I'd S/Ued the wrong module. If only I can be as lucky as this for my GEM and SS. Sigh. The GEM exam is like 3 weeks away, and I've got a ton of readings that are not even printed. I'm praying for a sudden stroke of inspiration and genius on the day of examination.

Yesterday was pretty much a blur. I woke up close to noon, did a couple of questions for stats, and went to school for French tutorial. Was tempted to skip tutorial as well, but having to fabricate another excuse letter is a pain in the arse, so I dragged my sorry ass to class, which was surprisingly entertaining, light-hearted and educational at the same time. Man, this is how lessons should be like. Haha. Stats test was pretty easy, but I made a mistake in the 2nd section when I used a tree diagram instead of the bloody Law of Total Probability. Sigh. There goes my perfect score. In fact, I'm kinda worried by the fact that I won't be getting full marks, while everyone else seems so cocksure that they will. Damnation.

Today was the best. Woke up early with an intention to mug for microbiology quiz later, but the notes totally sucked ass, and I had no idea what else was to be read. I ended up reading the newspaper, watching tv and downloading music before I left for school. What a productive morning. Sigh. Microbio lab 2 was just as confusing and riotous as the first session, but the experiments, if you could call them that, were a piece of cake. We only had to record our observations and results of the cultures we made last session; the rest of the time was spent looking at 'demonstrations', which consisted mostly of us copying what was written at each station, while the TAs stood by looking at us looking at the culture plates. Isn't it wonderful to be a TA? Haha.

The quiz was a stunner. Ho Bow can't give instructions for nuts. Apparently, each MCQ question in the quiz might possibly have more than one answer, and we were supposed to identify most, if not all, of them. Of course, at first glance, there seemed to be a loophole in this system, I could have just simply shaded every single option available. But noooo, Ho Bow had a trick or two up his sleeve. For every wrong option we chose, we get a mark deducted, and for every correct asnwer we picked, we get one mark. BUT, each MCQ question was only worth 1 mark. And for a question, the lowest you can get is 0, meaning there's no negative marking. Confusing, ain't it? And I thought it was some sick April Fool's joke on Ho Bow's part. Ho Bow made matters worse with his half-fucked instructions that stretched a good part of 20mins, after which I was totally lost. Ah well, I just resolved to shading every option that looked correct. You can't go wrong with that. I hope.

Left the place with Jingyao, Ian and Weiyee after the quiz. Jingyao was pestering the old man about the question on the least evolved domain. I was pretty sure the answer is Archaea, but Jingyao simply refuses to admit he got it wrong, and insists that Bacteria meant Eubacteria, and he was not wrong. Haha. And Ho Bow upon being questioned, didn't deign to give us a direct answer. He had to beat around the bush, asking us questions in turn, and finally disappearing without telling us which was the correct option. Haha. Jingyao's persistance didnt pay off after all. I was happily chatting with Weiyee when those 2 conveniently 'disappeared' on the way to the bus stop. Lol. At least they knew how to take a hint. Haha. Our chat lasted all the way from Science to her stop, during which she confessed that she had also thought of changing over to Medicine. Everyone's thinking of that, it seems. Hmm. I wonder if I should, given the dismal job prospects of a life science graduate. I'd be lucky to land a job operating a machine that washes test-tubes in labs. Sigh. Oh well, after the bus ride with her, I'm already content. Haha. Life's pleasures come from the simplest things.
